JAMES L. LAWYER, MSW, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker and a board certified Cognitive Behavior Therapist. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Mr. Lawyer has more than 30 years of counseling experience and has consulted with agencies, schools and national corporations. He has served as Instructor of Behavioral Science for Family Practice residents at Illinois Masonic Medical Center and was Director of Social Services at the Howard Brown Health Center, the largest largest gay and lesbian health care facility in the Midwest. He has also served as Field Instructor for graduate social work students at the University of Chicago/SSA, Loyola University and Indiana University.
JENNIFER KLAPATCH, MA, BCBA, has her Master's in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis from
The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is a Board Certfified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and has experience with both children and adults with developmental disabilities, mental illness, and behavioral problems. Prior to joining CBC, Inc., Jennifer worked in a variety of public and private settings, including the public school system, foster care, and residential placements. She is currently a member of the Adjunct Faculty at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and a doctoral candidate.
STEPHEN M. EDFORS, MS, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) is a licensed therapist who for the past 15 years has worked primarily in agency treatment programs directed at persons with substance abuse concerns and co-occurring mental health disorders. He is a client-centered practitioner utilizing cognitive-behavioral therapy, as well as interpersonal, motivational interviewing and harm reduction techniques. Stephen has facilitated treatment in groups as well as families, couples, and individuals. His strengths lie in his ability to respond to GLBT persons, persons struggling with addictive behaviors, as well as people dealing with self-esteem, depression, and spirituality concerns.
ALI BEAUVAIS CARRIS is completing a dual degree program at
The Chicago School of Professional Psychology: one Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis and a second in Clinical Psychology with a Counseling specialization. Over the past three years Ali has developed a range of clinical skills in her work with children and adolescents who have pervasive, developmental and/or emotional disorders, in addition to outpatient counseling of adults with such issues as depression, anxiety, and general life transitions. Her mission is to empower individuals and families toward positive changes in their
lives.
JANICE H. MARCH, LCSW, CADC, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Janice received her Master's of Social Work Degree from Loyola University. She has more than 10 years of experience as a group, individual and family therapist. Ms. March specializes in working with clients who have sexual abuse, relationship and addiction issues. Her passion is to help trauma survivors get out of the victim role so that they can learn to create positive, loving relationships. Janice has a straightforward, collaborative approach and engages clients philosophically as a loving witness to their pain. She has found that using cognitive behavioral therapy helps to restructure negative thinking patterns and moves clients forward.
DANI STAIR, MA has a Master’s Degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University.
Dani has worked with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities and behavioral issues. She specializes in applied behavior analysis and verbal behavior. Prior to joining CBC, Inc. Dani worked in the greater Indianapolis, IN and Champaign, Il area as an independent contractor in in-home therapy settings.
